SERCAP Continues to Support Rural Communities & LMI Individuals Through the COVID-19 Public Health Crisis!

SERCAP---Social-Media-Campaign-1---Drinking-Water--1

During this time of uncertainty, SERCAP’s dedicated staff members are continuing to provide Training, Technical, and Financial Assistance to both rural communities and low-to-moderate income (LMI) individuals for water, wastewater, housing, and community development needs. In accordance with the Governor’s orders, SERCAP staff are working remotely, where possible, and providing services via telephone and online web conference software, in order to continue providing critical support.

SERCAP services that are still available during the public health crisis, include: Individual Household Well Loans, Individual Household Septic Loans, Home Improvement Loans, Housing Rehabilitation Services, Essential & Critical Needs Grants, Housing Counseling Services, Technical Assistance to Community Water/Wastewater Systems, Facilities Development Grants, and more. SERCAP’s Regional Program is also working to provide water/wastewater operator training workshops as online webinars in the coming weeks. Currently, SERCAP is promoting its services through social media and other online channels so that communities and individuals know that the agency is still open and providing services, albeit remotely.

Without SERCAP’s Training, Technical, and Financial Assistance for water, wastewater, housing, and community development projects, many low-to-moderate income (LMI) individuals and communities would be forced to go without such necessities as reliable access to clean, safe drinking water, water/wastewater infrastructure solutions, safe and affordable housing, indoor plumbing, community development and infrastructure needs, and more. It is important to remember that even in the US in the 21st Century; there are those who do not have reliable access to clean, safe drinking water, environmentally sound wastewater facilities, and affordable housing. In order to help SERCAP continue to provide assistance to both the individuals and communities in need, please consider making a donation to SERCAP’s Water Life! Fund!
